I was wondering if anyone here on the board heard of or saw the movie Live Freaky! Die Freaky!.  It's a stop motion animated movie about a nomad wandering the desert in 3069 looking for food.  Along the way finds the book Helter Skelter about Charlie Manson's "family' and the murders.  We see the events happen because Charlie hears messages in songs like "I Wanna Hold Your Hand" and other Beatle songs.  Then at the end the Nomad carves an 'x' in his head and sees Manson as a Messiah.

Features many 'punk' stars, like various members of Green Day, Rancid, Blink 182, as well as Asia Argento.

I ask, mainly, out of curiousity as I was thinking of checking it out of pure morbidity.  And I didn't know if it was terrible or 'terrible' as in, "It's a bad movie, but not horrible" as we're accustomed to.

I've seen it Happy. I'm going to do a feature review on it near the end of the year (which is already coming upon us), but whether you'd like it or not depends on what you're expecting out of it. I checked it out because I'm a fan of Rancid, Charles Manson, and the lost art of stop-motion and came away less impressed and more uncomfortable from having seen little clay people do brutal things to each other. I was expecting it to have a little more comedy and energy to it, but it shoehorns itself more into the "dark and shocking" thing. Since the voice actors are all known for their music, expect more voice and not so much acting too. It's weird, sometimes to its detriment, but if you check it out be prepared for all the sex, violence, vulgarity and pure nastiness that most other stop-motion stuff stays away from.

I think this looks fascinating...as I am a junkie for Manson related stuff. (And NO...I don't creepy crawl houses or have an 'X" on my forehead.) I guess I'm just fasinated the same reason that all the public is on Charlie....Manson has gone from a two-bit hood and self styled "guru"....into-by way of the media-into a symbol of total evil. It's mindblowing how the general public will swallow any and all garbage shown to them by the media as TRUTH-'If it's on the news or in a book written by a Person of Authority" (ie:Bugolosi) it must be true! Manson is a homegrown two-bit hood with the gift of gab who conned a buch of stoned teenagers into killing some people who he didn't like. It went haywire...and the wrong people got killed. Charlie is a prison con...not Satan. Want evil? Try the Caholic Church during the times of the Inquistion....or the mass genocide of the Indian Nations by the good ol'US of A...(of which Hitler got inspiration)...THATS evil!!! Manson was a piker compared to  those evils.

Much like Jesse James,Billy the Kid, Butch and Sundance, Bonnie and Clyde, Jack the Ripper...he's gone from being a flesh and blood person into a  being a figure of American folklore.....even in his own lifetime. The real truth is-he's a looney con . And I think that  he willa lways be percieved as  Satan  by the McDonalds-("I LOVE THIS PLACE!")  mass market masses as such. The same people who voted in cowboy star Ronald Reagan...he was a ruff and tuff cowboy....he'll make a good President. He was a puppet-an ACTOR. It's all mass propaganda.  Charlie was a killer...and he is insane...but he is now the trademark for EVILTM

I'm a fan of Rancid and the others in the movie, and I knew about all the sex, violence, etc.  The article I read said it was 'funny', but it sounded like more a horror flick than anything.  I'm a fan of stop-motion as well, so I wanna see it just for that.  I can't say I'm a 'fan' of Manson, but, I've heard so many stories about the man over the years that the movie intrigues me to a degree.

Where about would it be found though?  I figured Hot Topic, but it's not there.  I figured SunCoast may carry it, but doubt FYE would.

I don't know about buying a copy, but I know that NetFlix carries it. Besides, I'd definitely call it a "rent before you buy" flick so as to avoid any potential buyer remorse if it doesn't live up to par.

It's one of those movies then.  Gotcha.

Reagan actually did a good job to my mind as President - the way he handled Grenada in 1983 left the soviets in no doubt as to who was in charge in international affairs. Also isn't the mass notoriety what Manson (a two-bit kook) actually wants and revels in through his occasional appeals?

Sure,it's what he wants. I'm sure he enjoys it. He wants to be a known as as Satan...or Christ. He's neither.

They've been showing some interviews he did for like, CNBC a few times in the past couple of months.  I guess he was up for parole or something and the interviewer was talking about how crazy and paranoid he is/was.
