This is a question about a film within a film.  The 1995 film Shallow Grave has a scene in it where one of the roommates is watching TV.  He seems to be watching an older british film where someone is being dragged somewhere and is absolutely terrified.  I haven't seen Shallow Grave in a while, but I remember being struck by the sound of whatever the film was that was being watched, as the actor's voice sounded unbelievably terrified, like he was being dragged straight into hell or something.  Does anyone know what film is being watched in that scene?

Psycho Circus

I'm pretty sure it was a scene from the Wicker Man

Yup, THE WICKER MAN.  See http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0111149/movieconnections under "Features".

I highly recommend WICKER MAN (the original), by the way.  And many others agree with me, Circus included, I think.
I'll take you places the hand of man has not yet set foot...

I'm actually tempted to watch the remake... some people seem to find it hilarious, if you can get over the outrage of the desecration of the original.
