The headline caught my eye, but what really confuses me is that they are trying to try him as an adult. Does anyone have any info on the rest of this story? I'd really like to hear details of the crime, I'm not sure what could drive an 8-year old to kill his own father, and I don't see how one can believe he could have an adult mental capacity. I see there's a gag order on people involved, I was wondering if anything came out before or despite that.

I don't know anything about Arizona criminal law, but my guess is the prosecutor is just grandstanding for the press when he says he wants to try him as an adult.  In most states you have to be 14 or older to be tried as an adult, and even then it can be an uphill battle if the accused is between 14-18.
