Blargh! Tiny rant...

I know we've all heard it before, but how is it films like Alien Prey and Alien Dead can get even somewhat respectable DVD releases and yet we're still waiting on films like Cellar Dweller, The Boogens, and many many more to get them?  Hell, even a better quality version of Final Terror would beat out the above Alien-named films.

Now, if someone could just kick Miramax in the nuts so we can get Godzilla vs. Biollante...

I'm guessing there's either not enough interest in getting the films you mentioned converted.
Or... There's a ton of legal red tape the distributors and studios have to clear first.

I do agree about The Boogens, though.
Awesome movie!  If it's ever released on DVD, I'll definitely buy it.
When I was a boy, that movie gave me nightmares for weeks!   :buggedout:
Particularly after seeing the scene below.  I was afraid to go near the floor vents in my dad's house.

Don't go near that vent little doggie!

Hi Joe ~ hope you had a good birthday.

Rights, copyrights and more rights, that's the issue.  :bluesad:

I get queries like this all the time ~ there are many of the films I look after which, due to rights issues have never been put onto DVD or even VHS for that matter, like the first African western The Hellions. Great film and here with us but Sony Entertainment say the film has "contractual restrictions" and cannot be digitized or even used.

A statement like that one from Sony makes me want to grind my old underpants in a blender.  :twirl: :tongueout:

What's stopping you?
Grinding your underpants in protest.  Now THAT would be something!   :teddyr:

I'll have to ask my mom if I can borrow her blender.  :teddyr:

I'm still waiting for Heroes of Telemark, one of my favorite WWII movies, set in Norway and starring Kirk Douglas.  It's actually available on DVD, but reading the reviews at Amazon the video and audio quality is horrible.  Sounds like it's not an official studio release, but I doubt they sell sell outright bootlegs on Amazon

I'm also confused as to why some American made stuff is available in other regions, but not here.  For instance Relic Hunter (sort of an Indiana Jones TV show starring Tia Carrera) is only available in a "best of" set here, but if I lived in Australia I could get season sets.  I could understand that perhaps the "best of" set didn't sell well enough here to justify release of season sets, but they've released them in region 4, so I would think since they've already made the investment, why not make them available here?
The world is changed by your example, not by your opinion.

Thank you!  My birthday was pretty fun.  Since it fell on the same day as Thanksgiving, I had to stuff myself silly with turkey and potatoes, then try to make room for cake.  I could barely move by the end of the night, but had to be to work by 4:30 AM the next day to work Black Friday.  Blech...

I figured about the rights and all that.  Still irritates me.  Would be nice to get a DVD of Boogens, though, or even Blue Monkey.

Borrow? Do you really think she's going to want it BACK?
Raw bacon is GREAT! It's like regular bacon, only faster, and it doesn't burn the roof of your mouth!

Uh-uh, never.  :buggedout: :buggedout:

FHM magazine ran an article on the best blender for money a few years back ~ they used six different ones and blended things like a burger, chips and coke to see how well each one did. The last blender they checked out......ermmm....they used a dead frog and liquidized that.  :buggedout:

Guess which blender I bought my Mom?  :teddyr:

The same one as I would have: The one displayed with the woman with the biggest boobies!  :bouncegiggle:

Ah, Cellar Dweller. How I long to have thee upon my shelf in an official form.

I believe that there still hasn't been a proper legitimate DVD release of Night of the Creeps yet has there?
