Well, I'm back from a little post-Christmas vacation, and I remembered to pack the safari hat. I only took it along on one of our sightseeing excursions in Toronto, but it was by far the most appropriate. The hat was too small for me, so my daughter obligingly put it on for a couple of minutes, just to get a couple of photos for the board. Here we are at the Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto, as Rowan sees her first real dinosaurs outside of toys and books. She never could quite grasp the size of them until she looked up and saw a T-Rex skeleton standing over her.

This is at the subway entrance in front of the museum. The subway was another first for Ro. The CN Tower (recently surpassed as the world's tallest freestanding structure on land) is visible in the background. Been to the top many times, and the view is great. It was on our itinerary for the day, but the little one was too tuckered out after the museum. Next time.

Behind us is the ROM's fossil Barosaurus. At just under 90 feet, it's too long to get in the picture, yet the museum managed to misplace the bones in various storerooms for about 40 years. A couple of years ago, somebody happened to notice in an old document that the ROM owned most of a 90-foot sauropod, and they eventually rounded up all the pieces and mounted it in a newly-renovated dino exhibit. It's the first mounted fossil barosaurus in the world.

And this fine shot was taken in front of the stegosaurus. The lighting and layout of the room actually made it difficult to get good shots of people and dinosaurs together.

Raw bacon is GREAT! It's like regular bacon, only faster, and it doesn't burn the roof of your mouth!

Score another one for the Ghouck.   :bouncegiggle:

Great pics Andy.  I'd say you'd get some major extra points if you got a picture of the hat on the dinosaur's head.
