SLAVE of the CANNIBAL GOD (1978)

Though not as much cannibalism as stuff like CANNIBAL HOLOCAUST or CANNIBAL FEROX,this is still has some very queezy scenes...like cannibals eating live green snakes. UGH! And the scene with the snake swallowing a monkey was totally unessacary...I don't get upset by some shmoe getting decapped,or some other hapless dope getting his arm chomped off by a croc,but a monkey! A poor innocent monkey! Obviously animals were harmed during the making of this film.

On the plus side,it has Ursula Andress gets nekkid and fondled by nubile cannibal women,Stacy Keach is good,and theres some great footage of wildlife-when their not being butcherd or eaten alive.
I can see eating a chicken or a cow...or even stupid,greedy white people-but cool lizards? No.

Did I mention the cannibal midget?

I saw the cut version of this. 't was in a mill creek pack. It almost put me to sleep.

Mindless butchering of a film is sad. I recall ordering a movie from VIDEO VORTEX called INVASION of the FLEASH HUNTERS (aka CANNIBAL APOCOLYPSE). The film had virtually NO gore...yet at the end of the movie they had the Italian trailer...which had LOTS of gore! Total let down. I bought a CANNIBAL movie...I expected to see cannibalism.

It must suck to get the censored version of a film...I've learned that alternate titles (usually) = alternate cuts.

It's a pretty decent B-movie. I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would. Ursula Andress does look spectacular, and the story and mood of the film kept me interested the whole way through. My copy is called "Slave of the Cannibal God," and was put out by Diamond DVD. It was one of those five buck cheapies. I think the more complete version is the one called "Mountain of the Cannibal God," but I don't feel like I missed enough to warrant dropping fifteen bucks for the extra footage.

Perhaps you seen a cut version. Ursula's brother in the film is speared,gutted and eaten. And Miss Andress is forced to nibble human flesh.

Speaking Unsexy aboriginal cannibal woman does anybody own a copy of The Devil's Nightmare from (mill creek video, or similar) there is a gothic euro/vampire Elvira want-a-be that has a crazy intro with demons and cannibal women. Talk about ugly... (Yes they do get naked and sexual with meat, its looks really funny and bad like a cheap porno without being x rated!)

Its really strange because you would think they were talking about SLAVE of the CANNIBAL GOD... Until the last 10 seconds when they flash the movie title... :)

That sounds like the intro form the REDEMPTION release. I do know that intro is NOT on the version released by St. Clair as I have both it and the aforementioned Redemption disc.

And, you're right, the intros don't always make sense. I think, but am not sure, that's because those were originaly part of a UK (?) telecast of some horror movie series that the goth lady was the hostess off?
