An extraordinarily gifted writer, a gracious man. I was saddened to learn of his passing.
What does not kill me makes me stranger.

Sad to hear.  I never read any of his longer works, but he had a mighty reputation among other writers, as well as some popular success.  R.I.P.
I'll take you places the hand of man has not yet set foot...
