Can't remember an old movie

I saw a movie when I was a kid back in the 90's. All I can remember was that they looked like evil demnted little furbys with red eyes, and they shot spines form their back into human's throats. It took place on a farm.
If anyone has ANY idea what it might be, I would be so obliged.

KILL CRITES!  I love that movie and it's first sequel. The other two though....

It must be critters. I love the critter movies the scene of having the Crite
hunter turn into a playboy model from a centerfold and have to remove the
staple from her belly was especially brilliant!
