shouldn't it be 250 Deutschmark ?

Shekel doesn't exist in Germany. It's the currency used in Israel.

It's was made in Israel where they use shekel, they do mention Israeli towns in the subtitles so maybe he's looking for a parking spot in Israel ... which add to it's goofiness.
