And, for absolutely special occasions, or when I just want to choke and gasp for a long time...

As far as hard liquor goes, I'm mainly a scotch drinker.  My "day-to-day" scotch is Johnnie Walker Black.  Pretty good scotch at a reasonable price.  For special occasions, I will drink the more expensive Johnnie Walkers, like Green or Blue.  I also enjoy Glenfiddich and The Glenlivet .

For shots, I'm partial to Sambuca (although, I also enjoy drinking this in a glass with coffee beans).  Ouzo is also a favorite (but has a bit of a nasty taste).

When I go to Brazil, I drink Caipirinhas (cachaca mixed with limes, sugar, and crushed ice).  I also occasionally drink cachaca straight, but the taste is often nastier than Ouzo.

My favorite beer is from Belgium - - Westmalle Trippel.  It's tough to find it in the U.S., but you can sometimes get it from large package stores.

Blue Moon is a very nice white ale that's actually sold in stores (thanks to being owned by Coors).  Their seasonal and specialty ales are a different matter.  This spring ale is flavored with lime peel and leaves; I think they should have used the edible parts of the lime instead.

Joe: Guiness is king!  Also like SoCo, though I haven't had it in a while, and Wild Turkey on occasion.

Lester: Seriously?  :bouncegiggle:

The lack of non-alcoholic beverages in this thread is startling.  I'm ashamed of you all.

Raw bacon is GREAT! It's like regular bacon, only faster, and it doesn't burn the roof of your mouth!

When I was in college, I devised a unit of alcohol measurement:

alcohol % * volume / price

We'd pick out our drinks based on that formula.  Not surprisingly, we ended up drinking a lot of Thunderbird and Night Train until we wised up.   But I admire your bottom line attitude!
