These movies are known particularly for not featuring the horror stars that have made their franchise popular. They were made in an attempt to take its series in another direction and were unfortunately met with backlash by the fans (Except New Nightmare, which recieved acclaim from critics and mixed reviews from fans).

Friday The 13th part V gets attacked and criticized for not featuring Mr. Voorhees as the killer.

Halloween III has faced condemnation for completely abandoning the Michael Myers storyline.

New Nightmare has gotten some flack from fans who don't consider it to be a true Elm Street sequel due to the story taking place in real life. Plus, we don't get the real Freddy. Instead, we're treated to a demonic entity impersonating Krueger. To some, this was a letdown.

.....So, which of these do you prefer?

Wes Craven's New Nightmare was cool... I liked the idea about Freddy coming to life.

halloween iii is a good film, just nothing to do with the previous 2. doesn't make is a 'bad' film per se, more like a mis-titled one. haven't seen the other 2 in this poll so I'll refrain from voting but HIII is pretty good film in its own right (imo)

I've always been a fan of Halloween 3;  they were going to make a series of new and original movies, a new one each Halloween, which I thought would have been a great idea.  I also like Friday the 13th part V.  Couldn't care less if Jason isn't really in it, it was plenty fun anyway.

Can't say I care for New Nightmare at all though.  I just found it very stale and boring.

I like all 3, don't know why they get such a bad rap.....
