Another unusual DVD purchase.

I really wanted to like this Italian giallo flick.  Unfortunately, there's zero suspense, I figured out who the killer is about 15 minutes into the movie (there are at least two clues in plain sight), and the ending is lame.

HOWEVER, there is frequent full-frontal nudity as well as several explicit (but not quite hardcore) straight and lesbian sex scenes (usually with saxophone music playing in the background).  A scene of a woman masturbating with a gold chain is one of the highlights.  These scenes make the movie bearable.

The plot involves two sisters from Austria staying at an Italian coastal hotel.  A dark figure is lurking around, paying women for the opportunity to watch them have sex, then eviscerating them with a large phallus.  Mostly, you just see a shadow of the phallus, then the victim screams, the camera cuts away, and the murder occurs off-screen.

This is the "uncut and uncensored for the first time in America" version, so I guess that explains all the nudity and sex.  It's an excellent, widescreen print and is in Italian with optional English subtitles.  I just wish they had done a better job with the mystery and suspense aspects and had some creative killings.
