I picked up an excellent quality widescreen print of this movie on DVD-R from Cinema de Bizarre.

Sure it's bad, but it's fast-paced and fun (in a ridiculous sort of way).

Doug McClure (seems like he's always finding lost civilizations and/or weird, giant creatures) plays a 19th century inventor of a diving bell who goes on an expedition with a group of scientists and sailors.  They encounter giant sea and land creatures, including a rubbery octopus that eventually attacks their ship.  They also find the lost city of Atlantis, which is populated by Michael Gothard (in a terrible, wacky wig) and Cyd Chyarisse (who can't act).  Also along for the ride is a young John Ratzenberger (Cliff Clavin from CHEERS!)

As bad as it is, this is a nice little 90 minute time-waster.  The kind of movie you might watch on a Saturday afternoon while you're trying to recover from your excessive Friday night drinking.  I also have the other 3 (similar) Doug McClure movies on Midnite Movies DVDs (AT THE EARTH'S CORE, THE LAND THAT TIME FORGOT, and THE PEOPLE THAT TIME FORGOT).  So, my life is at least partially complete.

I believe you can also see the whole movie on YouTube.

This is a film I enjoyed watching much like the other Doug McClure films you mentioned. I especially liked the scenes of the creatures attacking the city, something about that sequence has stuck with me over the years. Recommended for those who like adventure/Jules Verne type films.

I love these types of movies.  I have the Land That Time Forgot and the People that Time Forgot.  I heard about the Warlords of Atlantis.  I will have to purchase this movie.  There was one other, I think that it is the At The Earths Core.

Fun Fun.

I've seen all four of the films with Doug McClure, and while they are all watchable, I've found "Warlords of Atlantis" to the be the least of them.
