God bless New Line! First LOTR, now F VS. J! Head over to CHUD or New Line's official site to get the low-down.

I don't want to burst any bubbles, but was that piece of news posted on the page on Monday? Because that was April Fool's Day, and it could be a joke. :)

So, New Line Cinema's "Freddy Vs. Jason" movie is finally going to get made,eh!? Oh,f**king joy! Can I so ever picture this movie copying one of  Godzilla's Japanese slugfests, which this movie will definitely duplicate, with Jason and Freddy throwing one another through giant cardboard buildings. With all of those disposable, unstomachable "remakes" that are soon coming our way(oh, lucky us!),this "heavily awaited" epic is going to be mightily charging upon us all, since the horror nation and the mainstream film world will be ever so desperate for this one!J.R. wrote:

You say that like there's something wrong with the idea of Jason and Freddy throwing one another through giant cardboard buildings. I'd pay ten bucks to see that :)

Seriously, nobody's claiming this is going to be an Oscar contender or anything. It's just a bit of fun. I've read a couple of rejected scripts for this, and if the real movie is half as entertaining and creative as those were, it should be fun.

Actually, I find team-ups usually don't have enough fighting for me. If this film had about 10 minutes of setup and then commenced 80 straight minutes of Jason and Freddy hacking the crap out of each other I'd be happy enough. The sheer nostalgic value would work.
