WAR OF THE PLANETS (1977)

After about the first minute of this movie (which includes a toy spaceship, a crew wearing white jumpsuits and red penis-head skull caps, dubbed dialogue, and extremely cheap sets) I knew this would be a terrible, yet entertaining Italian sci-fi flick.  And I was correct!

The very simple plot involves a cheesy-looking robot villain who has taken control of a planet (inhabited by bald, pointy-eared aliens with graphite-colored skin).  The Italian space adventurers land on the planet and help put an end to all the nonsense in an orgy of stock footage of volcanic eruptions.

One of the funniest scenes involves a male and female member of the crew using a sex machine (similar to the one in Woody Allen's SLEEPER).  The guy asks the woman how long she wants to do it and whether she wants it "gentle or violent."  Then he adjusts a few dials on the machine and they lie down on separate beds while the machine arouses them.  Try to keep a straight face during this scene . . . I dare you.
