wow... I just watch Warlock Moon last night, although I did thought the story was good but I really thought it was no The Texas Chain Saw Massacre or even somewhat similar; which could be the end result of the thief getting caught red handed.

Assuming that there was "Idea stealing" and Bill Herbert liked the idea of a 'roller-coster-chase' that Tobe Hooper was working on so I could understand why Tobe freaked out when he heard of it and I wouldnt be surprise that Tobe seen Warlock Moon ASAP (which was released months before) and maybe he re-edit his chainsaw 'roller-coster-chase' if it did seemed to fail. I do think Warlock Moon's axe scene failed because the attacks were short and they ended with a freeze fame.

Warlock Moon in a typical blender movie that took ideas from Horror Hospital (1973), The Wicker Man (1973) and Three on a Meathook (1972) mixed it together, while hoping that the good ideas could make it a better movie. Im not saying its a bad story but the outcome was expected. Although I was thinking the move was running too much on 'nothing' at times and I started to fall asleep in some parts. The over acting scene in the abandon swimming pool didnt help the movie any and the dorky pick-up artist in the beginning also seemed super-unrealistic-and-unnessary; I also think these over acting scenes hurt the film in capturing the audience, although they are a little fun to watch because they are a train wreck in progress.

I do think its important to note that the film's ending was cool and my has predates movies that keeps the stories playing even after the ending credits, i'm not sure but I do think the whole ending credits started in the 60's and this story is a exploitation of the ending credits :)

I did enjoy the film but I think it important for viewer to know about the "Idea Stealing" so I do recommend watching the movie with the intro. :)

It is an enjoyable film.

I do agree that the scene in the empty swimming pool is a huge WTF? element other than you see that one of the characters may not be who you think they are.

Fun movie with serious flaws. But then, isn't that why we are all here?   :teddyr: :teddyr:

It's a fun movie to watch...

When I was watching it I was trying to figure what went wrong. Although I have no proof I think the movie actually helped Tobe in re-editing his roller-coster-chase ending, or Tobe had a good laugh in the theater.

As horror movies in general, these type of films did require lots "trial and error" and usually when one horror film was made they would have tons of "flaws" and other filmmakers would see what works and build from it. Which I could believe that Tobe's fear if his roller-coster-chase was stolen 'is quite real' and if it was better then his, he might be forced to make changes.

I really liked it but it's a fun drive in type movie not a classic on the level of Texas Chainsaw massacre.

This may be a small thing but Skull I'd like to commend you on your correct use of Chain Saw as two words for this film! So often people write it as one word  when that is incorrect. two words is the original, one word is the remake. I know it's stupid but it's one of those little things that bothers me sometimes...

OK, I know I wasn't around to experience social interaction in the 70s, but I would imagine that guys had to be a bit more creative and out-going to impress the ladies back then, whether it be through dorky jokes or far-out roller disco moves.  I'm going to say this is probably more realistic than you're giving it credit for!!  And picking up ladies, is ALWAYS necessary!

It did seem to be missing some chunks though.. way more that 3 or 5 minutes.  I wasn't really clear if those people were ghosts or not, but it seemed to be hinting that they were.  And I also think that we were missing the connection to the title "Warlock Moon" .. like some more explanation about what happened to the bride (besides being dinner), what they needed this girl for, and who Luther was.

Anyway.. it was nice to see GHouck again..

hehe... I'm dissing the pickup line because the movie was made in the 70's... Although it could of been really good if the character was a nerd and did other nerdie things. Maybe he needed a pocket protector and I'll be sold...

I lke stuff like this and "axe"

lol... I thought "axe" was quite good and it also seems like the inspiration for Quentin Tarantino's From Dusk Till Dawn (1996) [although axe has no vampires]
