Last year, after literally weeks of searching on the web, I had the great fortune to find one of my absolute favorite movies as a little boy on You Tube, the English-dubbed version of an animated Japanese film called The Enchanted Journey. At the end of the movie, Glikko and Nono, the two Siberian chimpmunks who are the stars of this excellent film, find themselves in a desperate battle with just the most demented-looking red fox. Trust me, if any of you have even a hint of vulpiphobia, this guy will scar your soul for life!

Anyway, and I kid you not, whenever the fox is bitten or angry, he actually ROARS, sounding almost exactly like Godzilla!  :bouncegiggle: :bouncegiggle: :bouncegiggle: Last time I checked, red foxes give a piercing, almost child-like scream when they get hurt, and growl whenever they're mad. They certainly don't make sounds like Godzilla! Even if you don't know a thing about foxes though, it's still just such a silly sound effect you can't help but notice.

What are your canidates for most inappropriate sound effect?

SPazzo

In the film Repo! The Genetic Opera, there are a couple scenes with some very odd sound effects.  The two songs with these effects are Thankless Job and Mark it Up.

Both videos are semi- NSFW.  Just violence and language...

Not Exactly A Movie But I'm Sure It Belongs With Innappropriate Sound Effects

In An Episode Of SOUTH PARK Somebody's Dead Body Is Stolen And The Cemetery Watchmen Come Up With A Theory That A Necrophiliac Stole It

The Watchman And His Assistant Explain Their Theory To The Townspeople , And Afterwards The Watchman Says " Now My Assistant Will Demonstrate What Having Sex With A Dead Body Might Sound Like"

Then His Assistant Opens A Jar Of Mayonaise And Jams His Fist Inside And Keeps Thrusting His Fist In And Out Making A Disgusting Squishy Sound

It's a well-known fact that all ferocious animals roar. Sharks are a fine example.

Basically, anytime someone draws a bladed weapon in a movie.  It always makes a huge SCHLING! sound, even if it's being drawn out of a leather scabbard, pulled out of a bale of hay, or merely being gently removed from a hook on the wall.

Oh, and anytime someone points a gun,  it makes a loud CLICK! noise as if it's being cocked, even if it has already been cocked, even if it doesn't have an external hammer to cock in the first place.

I recall one western (it had Tom Selleck) where a man pointed a double-barreled shotgun and you heard the sound of a pump-action shotgun being cycled.
Kneel before Dr. Hell, the ruler of this world!

You see that a lot in movies.  The Simpsons on numerous occasions has people ACTUALLY pump double barrels - I think it's a spoof of this silly use of sound effect.

My favorite weapon sound is not from drawing a bladed weapon, but when they're just MOVING IT IN THE AIR and it makes metallic scraping noises.

That's the joke.
