Saw this today unfortunately.

SPOILER BELOW saving you from dropping 10 dollars to see it

The same stuff happens in the beginning as the first one, the family sets up video camera security system which captures spooky scenes of haunted horrors like pots falling, a dog having a seizure and a sliding baby. So then the family gets suspicious of these events, and the father will have none of it until his wife gets dragged into the basement and pretty much raped by a demon. So then the wife is possessed and is trying to kill the baby, so the daughter and father plus the mexican cleaning woman try to stop her with olive oil and a cross which blacks out the electricity in the house, and causes an earthquake. Now reenact the final scene from Blair Witch Project. (?) Yeah. After all this confusion, the mexcian woman instructs the father how to place the demon upon on a blood relative (remember the woman from the first one? she's the sister of the possessed woman). What a***oles. Three weeks later, everything is back to normal until the sister (who is now the one who's demonically possessed) sneaks into the house while the father is watching TV and breaks his neck by using a really bad video editing trick. The sister goes upstairs, punches the mother (who is not possessed anymore) in the face and steals the baby. The screen is blank for a whole minute then the credits roll.

END of SPOILERS

Overall the best parts of the movie were the long dramatic talks with exposed cleavage, and the shaky cam confusion scene where the man is attacked by his wife and vicious rats. Also the women shrieking in the theatre whenever a chandelier moved.

This movie is clearly just a cash in on the original, and it leaves a lot of confusion for the viewer. So if you finished the first movie and are feeling confused, don't watch the second one, it provides more confusion and is basically the same thing.

And obviously yes, there will be Paranormal Activity 3.

Thanks for taking a hit for the team there, jimmybob.

I admit a sliding baby does sound tempting, but I think I'll wait a couple of months until it's on SyFy some Sunday afternoon.

So - what happened to the doggie?
If you're an Andy Milligan fan there's no hope for you.

I really enjoyed the original, but I knew the minute I heard that there was a sequel that it would majorly stink.  Some types of movies can never recapture the magic of the original, and should not try.

We have to wait until part 3 to find out if the dog died or not.  :bluesad:

Mr. DS

I'm sorry to hear that because I really thought the first one was a stroke of innovation.  I really got turned off to this when I saw a child was involved.
