Treasure of the Amazon (1985)

Has so much going for it yet falls flat. Filmed on location in the Amazon. Ample violence, animal attacks, and topless native babes. The print is pretty nice too. Yet, it blows.

The main culprit is there is really no plot or tension. Stuart Whitman and a bunch of other haggard white guys are going down the Amazon to find gold or diamonds. They have to contend with blow dart having natives as well as their own greed and so forth. They run across a couple of those guys who live in the jungle and are old and ugly but have many hot native wives. One of them is Donald Pleasence as a nazi who longs for the return of the third reich or maybe to start a fourth reich or something.

Most scenes have some sort of exploitation, but it's not choreagraphed in a way that makes any of it at all exciting. There is little sex and alot of macho-ing around. Directors: never show guys when you can show girls. This not as bad as director Rene Cardona jr's dreadfully boring "Gyuana Cult of the Damned" but isn't as "good" as his really tasteless but somewhat entertaining I guess "Tintorerra Killer Shark". Had a trailer for the movie "cyclone" that was so boring I fast forwarded through it. the trailer. Shapely Lady who talks like Penelope Pitstop stays clothed. Oh wait no you see her BRAR once wow
