Recent viewing over the last 24 hours were interesting. My movie marathon has taken me far and wide in the realm of B-Movies. Here are the latest:

FRANKENHOOKER - Yes, many have raved about this movie on this website and it is one of the few that live up to its postings. This is an over the top movie that is in league with BAD TASTE, DEAD ALIVE, and maybe DR. DETROIT. Well I'm going to give this one **** 1/2 stars. I think Zachery and Morton Downey Jr. had small parts in this film or maybe just looked like them.

SHE FREAK - This is an good movie in different ways. Freidman treats the subject of carnival oddities with care and good taste sense he was part of the carnival scene before making this movie. Just a neat piece of 60's carnival history/footage and oh yes there is a story involved much like Todd Brownings film FREAKS. It's a film  that makes you want to see the female star get what she deserves for mistreating the side show people. Its just a unique film with lots of color. *** 1/2 stars.

ROBOT MONSTER - I just had to see this b/w classic from the 50's. The film has this alien ape creature called ro-man walking around in a sea diving helmet in the desert trying to kill the remaining hu-mans of earth  Makes me think of BEAST OF YUCCA FLATS, but I would rather see Tor Johnson wandering the desert than the ape creature in this film. It is a funny film though, but I'm not sure I can watch the Ro-man tip toe up the side of a hill or communicate with his leader again. Oh and watch out for the surprise ending.

Next on my movie marathon will be the films below:

Mesa of Lost Women
Basket Case
The Mill of Stone Women
Re-Animator
Monster Club

I often cite She Freak as the worst movie ever.  I still think it is.  Robot Monster is another story "You are acting like a human, not a Ro-man!!" big thumbs up

Frank Coleman (BENTMEN)

Naah -- the worst movie ever is "Psyched by the 4-D Witch."

FRANKENHOOKER is a CLASSIC!

You'll like MILL OF THE STONE WOMEN.  It's has great creepy atmosphere and a gorgeous female lead.  An underrated little gem.

MESA OF LOST WOMEN is one of the all-time great bad movies.  The musical score is a relentless duet of flamenco guitar and out-of-tune piano playing in two different keys on two different planets.  This proceeds non-stop through the whole film, utterly oblivious to any of the "action" happening onscreen.

If you really want to fry your brain, see MESA on the same night with Ed Wood's JAIL BAIT and that other fine piece of cinematic craftsmanship, PLEASE DON'T TOUCH ME -- all of which use the exact same score!!   Aiieeeee!!!!

best,
FBC

Sounds like a good one Frank. Hope to see the new (and original) ASTRO-ZOMBIES and I think I'll watch MILL OF THE STONE WOMEN based on your info. And NETFLICKS is sending me MESA OF LOST WOMEN. Thanks.

JAIL BAIT is also on my top 15 rental que Trumpy.

Has anyone seen William Castles STRAIGHT JACKET?
