The Official "Hacking My Lungs OUt with Bronchitis" Film Festival

My wife has been coughing her lungs out for the last three weeks - we're on our third Doctor's visit and second round of antibiotics.  Then one of my twins started running fever two days ago.  I've been fighting it off all week, but my treacherous body finally succumbed to the foul bug today.  So what to do but watch bad movies?

First there was NIGHT AND DAY, a pleasant enough Popcorn flick with Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz.  It was pretty enjoyable, with lots of car chases and explosions and enough reality flaws to make WyreWizard lose bladder control.   And Cameron Diaz has aged well and is very lovely (she was my major celebrity crush BEFORE Anne Hathaway).


Then there was LAKE PLACID 3.  I had heard that the unrated DVD version was "lots better" than the TV broadcast version, which I had seen the end of.  Turns out, what they meant by "lots better" was "has lots more boobs in it."  However, all the croc scenes were still CGI - and BAD CGI at that.  I have fought monsters in Oblivion that were more realistic than those stupid crocs!  And you'd think that they could use SOME real crocodile footage, even stock footage, at SOME point in the movie.  I mean, come on, all it takes is a DVR and a cable subscription to ANIMAL PLANET.  Yeesh, this was a dumb movie!  Still, all things considered, it was lots better than the TV version.

Sorry to hear this, indiana, but it sounds like you are making the best use of the time.

And you'd think that they could use SOME real crocodile footage, even stock footage, at SOME point in the movie.  I mean, come on, all it takes is a DVR and a cable subscription to ANIMAL PLANET. 

Then it would be as good as that planet of bears movie SAVAGE PLANET!
