I was thinking the other day there is quite a bit of rape in ROTN. for one they put cameras in the girls house which is a violation, then of course the scene where the guy pretends he is the girls boyfriend wearing the mask.

I was thinking the exact same thing! And when he does take the mask off she thinks it's o.k?

The 80's got away with so much.

So there are two more ROTN's films I have not seen and I know you said they are not good, but I have to see them (for peace of mind)

I love this forum. I have learnt so much in the past 2 days.

The reason they got away with so much in those films, were because it was 1980's Hollywood. It was very much a man's world in those days. "Revenge of the Nerds" is simply a male fantasy. The male psyche is to to be adored and to attract women. It wasn't a "PC" world like it is today. That movie could never be made today. Because women have some power in Hollywood. In today's movies the nerd doesn't always get the girl. We have the "Twilight" movies, which are female fantasies where the men are pieces of eye candy. I bring this up because I don't think ROTN'S writers and producer's thought of the Darth Vader scene as rape. Most people who watched it took it for what it was, a ridiculous fantasy, not based in reality. It's a fantasy premise. The movie is called "Revenge of the Nerds." The key word being "Revenge." It's a fantasy revenge scenario. That's why the girl was OK with someone else pretending to be her boyfriend behind the mask. I don't think anyone is stupid enough to try this in real life.

I really like them both!  I have to go with Police Academy though, I even like the sequels!  I love Revenge of the Nerds, but even though they're funny movies, I still feel a little sad for how badly the nerds are treated and it interferes with the happy feeling.  There's not much room for sympathy in the Police Academy movies.
