Ever been in a situation where you think about how a Sci-fi tech would drastically improve? I know having a transporter would be ideal in every situation that involves transport. Also, the food thing from Hitchhiker's guide To the Galaxy, where the machine scans the tongue and gives the person what he/she is craving.
yeah no.

Go ask Dick Cheney and the staff at Area 51/52 if you want any groovy new technology, they've probably got all sorts of neat s**t stockpiled away from the general public. I can't think of anything handy right now, but I will say this - I am completely opposed to any further advancements in technology when it comes to convenience or the workplace, as people are becoming too reliant on all these gadgets and high-speed machinery is putting people out of jobs. I find it laughable that when there's a power failure, towns and communities fall to pieces...

I agree with you Circus...what even sadder is how we're all being trained to go to ATMs instead of bank tellers, to throw our own trash out in restaurants when a janitor could have said job, and even checking ourselves out of grocery stores instead of going to a clerk. Right now, there's three jobs eliminated by us choosing to do stuff for ourselves instead of interacting with a human being.

One of these would be awesome to have around the house.

For yardwork, cleaning the garage, stuff like that.
