I saw this when I was pretty young, early teens or something. I was in no way ready for the perverted sexuality of the movie, which really disturbed me at the time. I recall loving the music, but the movie made me feel dirty just by watching it.

I suspect I would love it if I watched it again, but haven't gotten around to it.

That is one messed up movie. I'd heard about it years before I actually found a copy. A friend of a friend used to do some security work at the Toronto Film Festival, and saw it there. His description seemed pretty far out, but could not capture just what a bizarre movie it is. What I like about it is it's pretty much all about the weird imagery and camera tricks. The story is dead simple, and the characters have no names, other than listing them in the credits as Man, Woman, Metal Fetishist and so forth.

What is really amazing though, is you can almost get away with having closeups of a character's wang hanging out if you make it a huge, spinning power drill. What does that say about society? :teddyr:

H.G. Lewis' The Wizard of Gore comes to mind first as does a couple of his other films. Can't say I really liked Wizard though  (truthfully I hated it) although it was pretty crazy.

Crazy movies, huh?
Lemme check my stash, over here....

Astro-Zombies (easy one)
Bad Taste (naturally)
Curse of the Blue Lights (inexplicable)
Demon Cop (abso-freakin-lutely insane)
Even Cowgirls Get the Blues (I don't even...)
Frankenstein Island (required viewing)
Glen or Glenda? (Ed Wood rocks, baby)
Highlander II: The Quickening (original theater version only, please)
Ichi the Killer (Yeah!)
Jaws 5: Cruel Jaws (that's right, you heard me...)
Killing Spree (amazing)
Lost Horizon (1973) (The musical.  Yes, "the musical")
Monkey With 72 Magic (a Monkey King movie)
Night of a 1000 Cats (killer cats and a mad playboy)
Orgy of the Dead (MORE Ed Wood!)
Planet Terror (how all movies should be)
Queen of Outer Space (Zsa Zsa Gabor as an alien)
Robot Monster (Diving helmet gorillas of DEATH!)
Suspiria (something for every body)
The Trial of Billy Jack (70s hippie-ism)
Under the Rainbow (bad taste a go-go!)
Voyage to a Prehistoric Planet (pieced-together sci-fi at its best!)
War of the Wizards (lots of wizards and Richard Kiel)
Xtro (It doesn't now what it wants to be...)
The Yesterday Machine (boondock Nazis!)
Zombie Holocaust (zombies AND cannibals!)

When it comes to crazy, these are my choices...and I haven't even scratched the surface of what I own/have seen!

I don't watch these kinds of movies.  Bad for your mind and your morals.  I would never recommend something like TETSUO, or HAUSU [HOUSE], or SHOCK CORRIDOR, or ZARDOZ, or Jan Svankmajer's ALICE, or ANTICHRIST, or MANIAC (1934), or BRANDED TO KILL, or TAXIDERMIA, or PI, or BLOOD DINER, or TROMEO AND JULIET, or anything by Alejandro Jodorwosky or Guy Maddin to members of this site.

And I would advise you not to even look up the plot descriptions of more obscure films like THE IMMACULATE CONCEPTION OF LITTLE DIZZLE, FINAL FLESH, DEATH LAID AN EGG, FUNKY FOREST, or ELEVATOR MOVIE.  The synopsis alone may drive you insane.
I'll take you places the hand of man has not yet set foot...

ALUCARDA (1978)

This movie is all over the place. Lotta screaming. Lotta blood. Turn it up loud at yer next get together at the screaming parts. Good Lord.
