I think they want the law to be changed because of the tragedy that arose from it's implementation. Martin, who was apparently a tough gangsta or something, didn't do anything to warrant being questioned. Police are supposed to be aloof. It was racial profiling and it exposed a serious flaw in the stand your ground thing, particularly as it relates to Neighborhood watch type things.

You can't just be like oh well and move on. that doesn't solve the problem. I work in the streets as a driver and I've had hotheads approach me for all kinds of s**t. it's dangerous and you have no way of knowing if the dude is a psychopath.

     This is exactly why Florida has this law; it's not perfect, but I believe that any citizen who's going about his own business should have the right to defend himself, his family, or come to the defense of another.

     The Martin incident was unfortunate, but tying the hands of decent  citizens is not the answer, and never will be.

Here in Texas, they're considering arming teachers; this does not mean that they're gonna force Miss Grundy to show up for class strapped, but that those teachers who are licenced gun owners will be allowed to carry on school grounds; me, I like it.

It wasnt about color with them,they were my freinds-my neighbors.
My girlfreind is black.
I live in Michigan-the word "n****r" gets thrown around alot. When I hear it-even in the store or diner-I tell em-"what makes your sorry ass so great?"
I just don't get it.

My girlfreind Tiana is one of the most intelligent,sweetest,caring people I ever met. If ANY one says someting bad about her-cuz shes BLACK??? Ill punch them square in the face.

     Well, there IS Caucasian in there, Irish, Scottish, and German specifically, plus Negroid (African and Jamacian), Indian (Cherokee), Pacific Islander (I've been told), plus who knows (or cares) what else.

I saw a clip of OPRAH WINFREY stating that she has never and would never use the "n" word because she thinks about the last thing that many people heard as they were being lynched.  That's a powerful point.
