Lifeforce with Captain Picard, er Patrick Stewart that is.

I love this movie.  I've got the extended laserdisc version which has the original Henry Mancini soundtrack, rather than the cut release with different soundtrack.  The production values are high, Mathilda May is gorgeous, and seeing Captain Picard, er, Patrick Stewart kissing a horrified Steve Railsback is worth the price of admission!

I remember seeing some large cardboard cutouts for Lifeforce in the local video store.  I never saw the movie itself until the early 90's, and have loved it ever since.

I also have the original novel on which it is based, called The Space Vampires by Colin Wilson.  Not quite the action packed apocalyptic extravaganza of Lifeforce, it is much more philosophical.  At the end of the book, the Space Vampires, which are discarnate energy beings, are taken back to their planet by others of their race, rather than the explosive 'return to the mothership' at the end of the movie.  I love both in their own right.

It rocked visually. I'm not so much into Horror, but sometimes when Sci Fi & Horror meet, its good. Phantasm, & Timewalker couple examples & Lifeforce as well.

A definite favorite of mine.  Haven't seen it in a while, I'll have to watch it again one of these days.  Loved the bizarreness of it.  Go into space and find a totally hot naked chick in a comet?  That stuff just doesn't happen every day   :teddyr:

After EATEN ALIVE,Tobe Hooper kinda went down hill. After the TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE,I expected more.

I haven't seen LIFEFORCE in years but I remember diggin' it a lot when it would turn up on HBO seemingly every other day when I was a teen.

It has some really cool moments abd special effects but a lot of it is people in offices talking.
