trying to remember a late 80's early 90's fight movie

it had this white guy who starts out always getting his ass kicked then he stumbles upon this black guy who starts training him to be like a street fighter both of the guys are ripped and big as hell. at the end of the movie the white guy fights the bad guy in the movie and its a hell of a fight and looks as though he's gonna lose but then he thinks bout all his training and wins the fight, then after his fight with him another older bad guy starts fighting him but the black guy has an old problem with that guy so he fights him and its the same thing over again looks like he's gonna lose but then wins. can't remember much about the movie but i know there's a big crowd when the last two fights take place i think it may have been a tourney as well.

There are no black main characters in that movie at all. At least none that I can remember. Richard Tyson is the oldest high school kid that I've ever seen in that movie though!
