The Washington Tidal Basin congressional stripper scandal (1974)

Does anyone know this story? It was a huge scandal the year I was born 1974.

what happened, apparently, was this: A powerful and married senator named Wilbur Mills was out on the town with his mistress, an Argentine stripper named fanne Foxe. Police pulled them over and she then jumped into the Tidal Basin, a reservoir in DC, to try and get away.



That was the story,though she claimed she was inebriated and simply fell into the water.
