When I was a kid I was channel surfing the old UHF stations and such when I came across a seen from this movie.  It was old (i.e. black and white) and the scene took place on a passenger flight.  The plane apparently flies over some warships and is fired upon.  The frightened passengers watch through the windows until the bullets start popping though the walls.  One woman is hit that I know of.  The plane starts to go down.  We see the pilots trying to keep the plane up before leaping out their seats and fleeing as the place crashes.  Water coming pouring through the cockpit windows.  That's all folks, any ideas?

There was a Hitchcock film from the '30's starring George Saunders that this sounds like.  I can't remember the name -- one of his lesser-known ones.  The passengers crawl out onto the wings of the sinking plane . . . damn!  What WAS that called?!?!

Foreign Correspondent , I think.

The Hitchcock film was Foreign Correspondent.

However, I can't recall the scene Chadzilla describing as being from that movie.

Not that it wasn't.  Interested parties can see the scene about four/fifths into the runtime.
