RIP James Shigeta

The IMDB is reporting that the actor James Shigeta - Mr Takagi in Die Hard and the Yakuza boss in Sydney Pollack's The Yakuza - has passed away at the age of 81. RIP Mr James.

One of the 1st Asian actors to appear on TV, his career in films and TV lasted over 50 years. I know him best as Vice Admiral Chuichi Nagumo in the all-star "Midway" from 1976, but his ability as an actor is best proved by the fact that if you needed an Asian actor to play an Asian character on TV, then you went and got Mr. Shigeta. R.I.P. James. You will be missed.
