Do you, or did you, play pen-and-paper role play games?

I played a fair amount of D&D in high school, but haven't touched it in years. I've thought about finding an RPG to play with my kids but I don't think they'd be into it.
This is my awesome signature.  Jealous?

Of course I do not know your kids and I do not even know their age. But I played, as master, Altar & Archetypes with three 12 years kids without any rpg experience and it was a quite interesting experience.

They had a quite vivid imagination and they were not bothered at all by the simplicity of the rules, but really appreciated the "make believe" game. In the party were also two adults and in some moments I felt the kids where playing better since they were tried to be in the scene while adults often tried to simply throw dice.

I played D&D back in the 1980s.  I also played Top Secret quite a bit.  I also played Traveler a few times, but my friends and I didn't like that as much.  A couple of years ago, I got together with some of my old buddies for a game of D&D.  My friend Bob opened one of the D&D books and there was a character inside, written on a piece of notebook paper that was folded in half.  It turned out to be one of my characters that I created back in the '80s!  And I used him in the adventure we played that day.

Played quite a few (D&D, 2300AD, WFRP, T&T and so on). Still manage occasionally to get a group together for a one off game but no ongoing campaigns (all the players we know are fairly spread out and have kids etc).

Did.

Rather excessively when I was a teen with my sister's tween college friends. Game was 'Midgard', the first German role-playing game.
Tried with the same group PP&P (Plüsch, Power & Plunder, where your character is a plush toy) and Paranoia.

No more, though...
