This was my result just now...

I just switched providers last week and I must say the new one is much better.

The download speed is about six times faster than what I got before, and the upload is three to five times faster than before.  That's the best I've gotten for upload to date on the new service.

So I'm wondering how everyone else here is doing with their connections.

My Fios service is fast enough, it's this six tear old laptop it's connected to that's a drag.

Mine REALLY sucks right now.  I'm getting ready to switch providers.

My upload speed is oddly slow, but oh well, I mostly just download stuff.

Okay, I can't get the picture to show up, but my upload & download are pretty good, but my ping sucks...

My parents are on with the new company too and I went to get Mom's late 2009 iMac all caught up update wise.  It was still on Mavericks and had some other things too to catch up on but I had been putting off since they had been taking forever with the old ISP.  Come to find out that the SMART was reporting the drive is failing.  I checked on line and replacing the hard drive is definitely not what I would tackle on my own on an iMac.  Gotta pretty much take the iMac totally apart to replace the hard drive.  So I'm going to call the local Apple repair place and have them do it instead.  Ugh.

Don't ask.

As I have to use a PAC in the nearest public library to where I live, and they don't buy the newest or the best, but . . .?!

(1) It limits the time I'm on it. If I had one in my home, I've been on it more than I should.

(2) I don't have to spend the $ on a connection to the computer.

(3) If the one I am on breaks down for some reason, I don't have to call someone to troubleshoot the problem, nor do I have to spend the $, which I don't have, to replace it.

(4) And I didn't have to spend the $, which I don't have, to get it in the 1st place.

At least, the system I am on now, while it may not be that fast, at least it stopped doing something really aggravating.  At some point, while using it, it'd reformat itself, no telling when, to a format that was completely unusable.

Kind of surprised it's so crappy. Don't really notice it for most applications (Netflix).

Here's hoping Google fiber gets deployed here in Phoenix sooner rather than later.
