This sunday, i'll get to watch Gamera 3 : Revenge of Irys on the big screen, Japanese track, Dubbed. The Drexell has a good sound system, so it should do the film justice, as it did for the Metropolis Anime. I am a luckey man. Do any of you have theaters around that give you this kind of oppertunity? Columbus is fortunate, as with Ohio State Univ. we get a good sized audience for the independant and unusual flicks. Lets face it, video is convineant, but the big screen sure changes the apprecation for the best in Tokyostomping, don't it?

F*ck. I wish there were places in my town to watch movies like that on the big screen. There is a few good rental stores tho with some hidden gems so I guess that I'm pretty fortunate.

That's real cool, bro! I know just how that feeling is when a widely awaited genre film gets its threatrical premiere in your town("Bubba Ho-Tep" will play here at the CineVegas film festival next month in Vegas, and I'm definitely there!!!),and you're got that priviledged chance to go catch it on the wide cinematic screen.
My good pal Tom Simmons(of the Video Junkie website) says that "Gamera 3:Revenge Of Iris" is the best of all the Gamera films(even the Gaos return to take on Gamera,as well),and that it's an absolute,all-out giant monster fest, the kind that we all heavily crave for around here in the States.
Enjoy the movie, and let us all know how it is(if anyone's seen it on mail-order video, let us know how it is,too).

Ah, ha ha! I'm back! Got to see the"Other" big G in his proper environment. Due to bad time listings, many people missed the showings, but i'd used the Drexell's web site, so no prob. Got to see the whole flick, and some scenes i'd missed at the Marcon anime room showing two years ago. Much better to see it clearly, and with good sound. Our heroine, ....D'oh!...memory....well, "Bird Girl", you know. She is still a honey. Love that gal. And Gamera....can kick serious major metropolitan butt anytime he wants to. This is what all Dai Kaiju should be. Never a dull moment, great action scenes, and a proper respect for the basic concept. If these ceatures were real, the average human would be as nervious as a cat in a room full of Rottwilers. Hungry ones. Hi-keeba!
