Looking for suggestions.

Work is sending me away on a 6 month deployment to the south Atlantic next year. The plus side of this, is when I get back I get 2 months off work. We are planning on using this time to go over to the states so Kristi can see her family and to introduce the new baby to her family and friends in Utah. When ever we go over we always go to California and spend a week at Disneyland. I've said this time when we go over I'd like to spend a day going round LA and seeing other stuff. I am just wondering if anyone here is familiar with the area and could maybe suggest some non obvious stuff to go see and do?

Last time I was over I did make sure I got to go to the Rainbow Bar & Grill (which has the worlds best pizza. I would do the 14 hour flight from here to there, just to get the pizza then fly back home again quite happily) and saw Ozzy Osborne (didn't speak to him though, the pizza was just too damn good and I didn't want to risk having to share it, even with him).

Anyway, any recommendations from anyone (bearing in mind I will have my wife, young child and a bunch of in laws with me).
