The Burgomaster

This is another movie that is included in the MARTIAL ARTS 50 MOVIE PACK.  It doesn't belong in this boxed set because it isn't a martial arts movie (although, it does have a brief fight scene in which a woman beats up another woman using martial arts).

This is one of the blaxploitation movies that was on my "need to see" list, but it ended up being pretty disappointing.  The plot is similar to many other blaxploitation films (black gang vs. white gang) and there really isn't anything memorable to set it apart from the others.

A bright spot is character actor Tony Burton (the ROCKY movies, ASSAULT ON PRECINCT 13) who plays a boxer / bodyguard.  Other than that, it's the usual cheap thrills.
"Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me either. Just pretty much leave me the hell alone."

Does anyone say "I'm gonna make you an offer that you can't refuse" in this movie?

The actual line in the movie was " My father made him an offer he couldn't refuse. "

There's a nifty website called the Internet Movie Database where you can find this stuff.

And you thought Trek isn't cool.

Does anyone eat an orange in this movie?

I bought this recently, thinking I hadn't seen it, then realized twenty minutes into it that I'd seen it on Epix Drive-In  a couple years ago.

Here it is, for those who haven't seen it....

If it's true what they say, that GOD created us in His image, then why should we not love creating, and why should we not continue to do so, as carefully and ethically as we can, on whatever scale we're capable of?

The choice is simple; refuse to create, and refuse to grow, or build, with care and love.
