John Zacherle passed away in his sleep last night at the age of 98! An icon of horror movie hosts to be sure!

If you want to view paradise . . . simply look around and view it!

He was one of the original "Shock Theatre" hosts, and I think the last one.

If it's true what they say, that GOD created us in His image, then why should we not love creating, and why should we not continue to do so, as carefully and ethically as we can, on whatever scale we're capable of?

The choice is simple; refuse to create, and refuse to grow, or build, with care and love.

Days before Halloween.  It seems fitting.

RIP, sir!  "Horrible Horror" is a favorite around my house.

When I get to Heaven, I'm gonna track him down and watch some bad movies with him.

Kneel before Dr. Hell, the ruler of this world!

Dam-why am I just finding this out-Zacherley? Dang-I was too young to see the original Shock-but his impact on horror fandom was tremendous. Along with Famous Monsters magazine-Zach and Shock started the whole monster boom in 1957-and turned me into whatever I am today.
