HELP! What movie was this???

A kid sees a spaceship land in the woods by his house. His dad checks it out and gets taken over by aliens. Other townsfolk get taken over, and everyone taken over has a bandage on the back of their neck. Eventually the Kid and his teacher or something sneak into the spaceship for some reason and just before the aliens take over/kill them, the kid wakes up. As he calms down he looks out the window and sees the spaceship land in the woods by his house.

That would be Invaders From Mars. The original was made in 1953 with a remake in 1985. Not sure if the original had the kid and teacher sneaking onto the ship or not. If the one you're thinking off had guys in suits playing the Aliens, that's the original, if it had giant two-legged creatures with bodies that were all head, that's the remake.

The remake of Invaders from Mars is kind of weird. The aliens look like potatos and there are scenes that give off a vibe that makes it feel like maybe the kid and his teacher have more than a scholastic relationship.

It does.  The remake follows the original fairly well, to its detriment.

They have new version on DVD for $10.

FYI.The guy who played the boy also played the sherriff on the new one.

& to my knowledge those are the only movies he's ever been in.

Kind of like the Tall Man from "Phantasm".

Phantasm & it's sequels are the only films he's ever been in.

Personally.I wish when they come out with new versions of old classics like this.

That they would do a dual set were you get the new & the old version in one buy.

 Yup, and in the school basement, one of the objects mixed in among the junk is the globe containing the martian leader from the original movie. I believe the cops shine their flashlights directly on it at one point.

 Actually, they list 22 movies for him, but one of them only contains clips from the Phantasm movies and the other, he's the narrator, but doesn't appear in the film itself.

 Transylvania Twist has him spoofing his Phantasm character. The cast runs into him in the hall, and he's standing there holding one of the spheres and acting like the Tall Man. Suddenly the cast starts acting like they're at a baseball game and the Tall Man winds up and pitches the sphere at them!
