So did Gore really win Florida in 2000? Maybe. But by 2008 what did it matter? Apparently enough to spend millions to craft an onscreen retelling of the behind the scenes scrambles to sort out the 2000 election debacle.

The one and only (thank goodness) Kevin Spacey wasted his talent on an irritating character here and the bitter partisan tone to the film made it too lopsided to be objective history, though that would have been forgiveable if the drama had been ramped up but what Recount was presented to be was a rehashing of (by then old) news we'd already watched. I was disappointed.
