Is, of course, an iconic actress who starred in some of the best movies ever made.
But That's not what concerns me here-she was in lots of fantastic horror films!

.WHATEVER HAPPENED TO BABY JANE? (1962) is one of the best films of any genre to come out in the 60's.
.DEAD RINGER (1964)
.HUSH...HUSH SWEET CHARLOTTE (1964) which scared the s**t out of me as a kid!  :buggedout:
.the NANNY (1965)
.the ANNIVERSARY (1968)
.MADAME SIN (1972)
.SCREAM PRETTY PEGGY (1973)
.BURNT OFFERINGS (1976) -which I thought was a fantastic spooky haunted house movie!
.RETURN FROM WITCH MOUNTAIN (1976)
.DARK SECRET OF HARVEST HOME (1976)
.the WATCHER IN THE WOODS (1980)
.WICKED STEPMOTHER (1989)

Little known fact-she was slated to play the part of Elizabeth in FRANKENSTEIN (1931)! The part went to Mae Clark, of course.

Of the 2- I like BURNT OFFERINGS better!  It had Oliver Reed and Karen Black, too!
And never rent a house from Burgess Meredith!  :buggedout:

I usually enjoy her movies, particularly THE LITTLE FOXES (1941) and THE LETTER (1940)... it's worth pointing out that DEAD RINGER was kind of a remake of her A STOLEN LIFE (1946).

Burnt Offerings was an early "what was that movie" I asked here. I saw it when I was a kid.

her non horror movies seemed aimed at women. The guy would end up choosing her over Marilyn Monroe or some other babe like yeah right

Different eras.  I can't think of a movie where someone chose BETTE over another woman or "some babe"... her movies seemed to be more of the melodramatic variety to milk tears for BETTE, and not much "babes" she competed against.

I agree 100%.

Bette and Marilyn?
For one thing- Bette was in her  in her glory when Marilyn was s**tting green.
And Bette was a beauty. But not one to f**k with!
She was bad-ass. Like a Kewpie Doll with attitude.
