"The curse exists! I've seen it!"

Encore Films has released a new international trailer for the Japanese horror film Sadako, the latest in the Ring series. The film was directed by Hideo Nakata, the same director who helmed the first two films in the series, Ringu 1 and Ringu 2 (before they were remade in the U.S.). He also directed The Ring 2 for Hollywood in 2005. In this sequel, a group of people must find out how to stop the "newborn" killer curse, which has returned and gone viral after a YouTuber accidentally captured a deadly ghost on camera.

Here's the synopsis with some story details:

A young girl with amnesia is admitted to a Tokyo hospital's psychiatric wing. Raised in secrecy, she barely managed to survive a fire started by her mother who, because of the former's telekinetic powers, believed her to be the reincarnated Sadako. Psychologist Mayu Akikawa quickly grows fond of her, seeing herself reflected in her solitary past, a lifetime of loneliness. Meanwhile, Mayu's brother Kazuma, a producer of absurd online videos, attempts to boost his viewership by broadcasting an excursion into the burned ruins of the girl's house, when he suddenly disappears. Alarmed by the last-seen images of her only family and by several supernatural events linking her new patient to Sadako's curse, Mayu sets off in search of Kazuma.

Sadako stars Himeka Himejima, Elaiza Ikeda, Hiroya Shimizu, Ren Kiriyama, Takashi Tsukamoto, and Rie Tomosaka. The film was already released in Japan in May and it's set to premiere in North America at the Fantasia Film Festival.

I thought I was going to have a review of that up on 366 Weird Movies today, but it appears not. Our Fantasia Film Festival correspondent chose to write about a different, lesser known movie instead. I'm sure he'll report on this by the end of the week though.

I wonder what happens if you just don't answer, or it goes to an answering service?

A computer generated voice leaves a message in Japanese, telling you that you have unpaid tax debts and important documents at the Japanese embassy, and that you must call back or a warrant will be issued for your arrest.
