Dr. Whom

Due to the bad reactions, I put off watching this for a long time. I went in with really low expectations and found it surprisingly watchable. It is not a good movie by any means, rather a mediocre by the numbers take on the dirty dozen, but with superpowers. Just the thing for late evening after a few drinks.

I didn't think it was a horrible movie.  It wasn't great, but it was decent enough.  It was certainly a step up from the Superman and Batman V. Superman movies DC had done prior.

I'm a little bit tired of the "big laser in the sky" threats in these kind of movies, but her weird corrupted zombie things were pretty cool.

I think the biggest complaint was actually the music.  It was basically everypopular song you could get on a sound track without anything that really ties it together.  It's obvious that they were trying too hard to be Guardians of the Galaxy there, but Guardians at least had a theme and reflected the character in it's song choice.

A lot of people talk about how horrible Joker was in this movie, but I thought he did a fine job for his role.  It was an update from the original Gangster version of Joker to a more modern "gangsta" Joker and even then it never felt like he was taking his position it seriously.  What sucked about that Joker was the character design.

I'm not too fond of Harley's redesign either.  I miss the old jester costume.

Well, there were many lazy choices in the movie, including the nature of the threat. Also, Creepy Cara Delevigne was seriously underused.

For me, the main problem was that the production team apparently never made up their minds what kind of movie they wanted to make: was it a Harley & Joker story, or a Will Smith vehicle, or an ensemble piece? Any of these options would have been valid, but now you have a movie that goes in one direction, and then veers off in another and then tries something different altogether...

I find it quite watchable, but nothing special.

My favorite effect for this film was the make-up used for Killer Croc.  I actually wished he had a bit of a bigger part to play.

The Harley redesign has become popular in the cosplay community.  Probably a big part of that is its relative simplicity that a lot of people can pull it off.  It might have been nice to see a more modern update of her classic look-but I get they couldn't go full B:TAS with it.

Cara Delevigne looked way better in her creepy swamp witch Enchantress then her sorceress queen get up.  You could have actually made a decent horror film with that design.

At least, that's what Gary Busey told me...

Amen to that! It is slightly less prominent now, but conventions were absolutely infested with Harleys of all kinds.

I agree that they should have used creepy swamp Cara Delevigne more, rather than bellydancing Cara Delevigne.

The Creepy Swamp Witch look was a much better design for the character.

I suppose we should just be glad we didn't get a comic accurate version of the character though.

Yeah, but think of the money the production staff would have saved just by picking up one of those adult witch costumes from Spirit Halloween store
