Peter Lorre in 1929. He looks scary just standing there. Even though he was not per se a 'horror' star- that is the catagory he gets lumped with.
He is a creepy looking guy! And he was 5'3".  Jussst like me

Supernatural?...perhaps. Baloney?...Perhaps not!" Bela Lugosi-the BLACK CAT (1934)

Lugosi-"No. Dracula-never ends."

Fun fact- Karloff, Rathbone, and Vinnie  all starred in TOWER OF LONDON (1939)!
Here's... Karloff stealing the thunder! Yikes!

It was made right after Rathbone and Karloff were in SON OF FRANKENSTEIN (1939), trying to cash in on the HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME (1939).Period films were a thing. GONE WITHE THE WIND- 1939....supposed to be Hollywood's best year....grumble...all that bulls**t.
...yes, VINCENT PRICE is in it!  Another reason to like that one...  I just noticed IAN HUNTER is in it too, playing a good guy...
