The man inside the suit of Darth Vadar has passed away at the age of 85. In the UK when I was a child he was also known for being the Green Cross Code man in a series of road safety adverts (and this was the role he was most proud of).

he was a westcountry guy, I went to primary school in plymouth and remember him coming to do a couple of 'road safety' assemblies dressed as The Green Cross Code Man when I was about 5 or 6... in fact it wasn't until I was at uni that I found out he was also Darth Vader!

He was also the big bodyguard in A CLOCKWORK ORANGE, and played the Frankenstein Monster 3 times: CASINO ROYALE, HORROR OF FRANKENSTEIN, and FRANKENSTEIN AND THE MONSTER FROM HELL.
