This used to be a thing in the 70s and 80s. Even my dad would drink warm milk, sometimes with a piece of butter added.

Seems gross now. Ever had warm milk? Do you remember anything else food or drink related that went out of style? Not talking about discontinued commercial stuff.

No, but I think I may have tried the steamed chocolate milk at one of those coffee houses once...

Penne alla vodka

QuotePenne alla vodka is a pasta dish made with vodka and penne pasta, usually made with heavy cream, crushed tomatoes, onions, and sometimes sausage, pancetta or peas. The recipe became very popular in Italy and in the United States around the 1980s, when it was offered to discotheque customers.

I do remember the Penne alla vodka craze. My former brother-in-law would cook this for special occasion dinner all the time. It sort of made a comeback a few years ago.

Crushed up saltines in milk.
UGH! When I lived in Indiana in the late 60's, the hillbillies next door ate that.

Penne alla vodka ain't bad. I don't remember there being a craze around it, though.

I don't think I've ever heated milk for drinking.

Warm milk has been a thing since maybe- forever. I seen it in old movies from the 1930's.

Rice and milk. For breakfast. If we were out of cereal or oatmeal my stepma Mary Jo boiled rice and put milk on it. We called it mush.  :bluesad:

Oh, I used to have the powdered Cocoa all the time when I was a kid, & maybe once or twice since, I'm just thinking of the only time I actually had heated milk, & how I just don't get those coffee places........

Coffee places- I never went to one. There ain't none here.

I would just ask for black coffee, I think.

Sounds like milk rice without finesse. Only thing missing is vanilla bean, sugar and a sprinkle of cinnamon.

Used to get warm milk regularly as a kid. Couldn't tell you the last time I had it, although when Kristi can't sleep I frequently suggest she tries it (to date she hasn't).
