Rank the nuts!

1. Trevor Moses... sorry, wrong nut list.

1. Peanut - the king of the nuts
2. Cashews - a little sweet
3. Pistachios - would be higher without those damn shells!
4. Almonds - versatile, good all-purpose nut. Eat 'em alone or flavored
5. Macadamias - underrated
6. Hazelnuts - you only get them in candy, but they are satisfying there
7. Pecans - There's a reason they're always in candy/pie--to disguise the pecan taste. A little goes a long way, but they have a nice crunch.
8. Pine nuts - eh.
9. Walnuts - only in cookies. Very dry.

Any Rooney had a thing about this. the amount of the respective nuts related to the cost.

the pistachios we get here are not the real deal. sanctions on Iran are to blame

The first time I saw this advert, it had me howling with laughter. After that, any time I saw it, it didn't as much as raise a slight chuckle.

For anyone who doesn't know the old guy in the advert, it is the lead singer with Slade, Noddy Holder. I have no idea what kind of nuts are actually being advertised though.

In college my roommate's brother showed me how to prepare acorns so they could be eaten without the bitterness, and honestly they were not bad, though they had an aftertaste I didn't like. I guess that counts as a nut, but one I'd put on the bottom of my list behind all the others you guys have already mentioned.

(OT but you know what he showed me that was downright delicious? Cattail pollen.)
