The Irish singer and songwriter has passed away at the age of 56. RIP.
We shall meet in the place where there is no darkness.

I wasn't a huge fan, but still very sad. She was about my age.

f**k.  :bluesad:
I recall her ripping up a picture of the Pope on SNL.

RIP, fighter.

PS: I can't name one of her songs.
Supernatural?...perhaps. Baloney?...Perhaps not!" Bela Lugosi-the BLACK CAT (1934)
Interviewer-"Does Dracula ever end for you?
Lugosi-"No. Dracula-never ends."

Nothing Compares 2 U springs to mind.

May she find the peace she was never able to achieve in life.

I just found out and then texted my cousin to ask what she'd heard and she said it may be a rumor but it's going around that she hanged herself after taking an overdose of pills. Beyond that I haven't heard anything at all. Guess she seriously wanted to go. Sad.

I stood up for her when she tore up that picture on TV, because I said it was free expression, something i still believe today. Time has also shown her criticisms of the Catholic Church to have been valid to say the least.

She had a beautiful voice and one song I liked, and that's about all I can say of her as a musician.

What does not kill me makes me stranger.

Reading up on it, her son committed suicide only a year ago. She was depressed ever since and had previously threatened to take her own life.
