According to Fangoria.com there's a new Snake Plissken film in the works.  It'll be a cartoon (of the anime variety) and feature the voice of Kurt Russell as Snake (natch).  The release date is sometime in the far flung year of twenty oh four.

Now, assuming the article is correct, and nothing bad happens between now and then, this could very well be something to look forward to.  I just wish the article mentioned which studio was doing the job...

Say, maybe among the first twelve episodes, they could come up with a new plot!

Episode Six: "Escape From The Chocolate Factory"
President Evil captures Snake and plants a suppository in his ass which will explode in exactly seventeen days if Snake doesn't retrieve the President's car keys from the Lost & Found department at Candyland. Candyland, unfortunately for Snake, is full of mean ol' liberals. Snake teams up with the Militia of Righteousness to blow up several buildings full of people who have no idea what's going on. Special Guest-star: Rambo.

Episode Eight: "Escape From Seattle"
President Evil captures Snake and threatens to detonate an virus-infected bird jammed into Snake's ear unless Snake retrieves the President's brother-in-law from the Island of Seattle, where evil liberals force citizens to not litter.

Episode Ten: "Escape From Kansas City"
President Evil reveals that Snake's new eyeball transplant contains an acid capsule that will melt his head if Snake doesn't rescue the President's two drunken daughters, who have his plan for world domination tattooed on their vaginas, from the liberal stronghold of the Island of Kansas City. Guest-starring Josie and the Ghosts of Mars.

Okay now, how'd you get my script outlines?

Both Dark Horizons and Eonline both confirmed that this is actually happening,so let's just hope that they give Snake his own original adventure this time out, without re-remaking the first outing, though I'll assume it'll have Snake taking on the corrupt President, with Hauk by his side(since Lee Van Cleef is no longer among the living, why not just easily animate him),and Snake facing facing all kinds of new obstacles and foes to overcome.
                   I do like Squishy's "President Evil" name,though.

Cullen, you know Squishy will never tell, espchualy after haveing all his minions tongues removed with weed wacker. He is one TOUGH e-vil overlord!

As far as a 'new' story goes, I don't know.  Carpenter seems big on telling the same story in innumerable variants (i.e. just like his idol Howard Hawks).  When discussing EfNY and EfLA he quipped "Which was better Rio Bravo, El Dorado, or Rio Lobo?" referencing the trio of ohn Wayne movie Hawks made that were virtually the same story, but with different settings and casts, more or less.  If Carpenter is in involved in the story it will no doubt be his "Escape from Earth" story idea (having played out to major American cities he saw no other recourse but to escape the whole damned planet!).

Still I love the character and the whole darkly funny dystopia he lives in, so I'll plop down some cash to see (or just dig myself deeper in debt with the old credit card).

I want to see Escape from Cleveland.   They reference it a lot in Escape from LA, all the crap that went down in Cleveland and how he barely got out.

Oh yeah, wasn't the whole world's power supply shut down?  No power in the next flick?   Could be interesting.

>Oh yeah, wasn't the whole world's power supply shut down?

The pulse should have only affected equipment that was actually on at the time. In Broken Arrow, John Travolta just turns off his gear before the bomb blast.

Because I'm bored...

Episode Five: "Escape From Jury Duty"

Judge Drudge, minion of President Evil, corrals Snake and his sidekicks Hauk, Taxi Driver, and Brain into serving on a jury. Damn vegetarians! Oh no! Snake can't smoke in the courthouse! Can special guest-stars Scooby and Scrappy-Doo save the day for tobacco freedom? Special musical number featuring the voices of Kurt Russell and Casey Kasem.

Episode Seven: "Escape From Las Vegas"

President Evil tricks Snake into lacing up trick boots that will bite off his legs if Snake doesn't get Evil's lost puppy out of the Island of Las Vegas in, oh, say, half an hour. The puppy's tapeworm contains a secret message about world domination, or a pizza recipe, I forget which. The point is, Snake shoots a lot of people, including special guest-stars Batman and Austin Powers. Lucky for him, everyone in town is stupid enough to fall for that "watch-the-can" trick.

Episode Eleven: "Escape From Stall 18-B"

Special guest-directors Trey Parker and Matt Stone tell a gut-wrenching tale of toilet-drama and fart jokes when Snake, suffering from diarrhea, discovers President Evil has rigged his bathroom stall to explode if Snake gets off the seat. Snake tapes the seat to his bare arse and goes on a bloody rampage of revenge. Guest-starring Eric Cartman.

It might be good. We'll just wait and see

Truth to tell....any of these would make a better script then any their likely to make. You da man, Squish.

Rather than start a new thread on the subject, I'm putting further information on this (and related topics) here.  At least until the post drops into the "older topic"section, at which time I'll go silent on the issue (and see if I care!)

Childishness aside, more information on this topic can be found here.
