Its off topic but I couldnt think of anywhere else. For some reason when I play DVD's on my computer, whatever program I use, after about 5 or 10 minutes its starts to stutter, slightly at first but it soon starts skipping huge chunks until finally freezing completely. Windows XP (typically) has no information about this problem because it seems to think its perfect, so maybe someone here can help me. What the hell is going on?

I've got no idea, partly because I haven't played with XP.
Couple of thoughts though:
Do you have enough RAM, and a good enough video card? (what "enough" is, I dunno)
Are you running any other programs-- possibly even a firewall if you've got DSL./Cable modem, might take up just enough memory.

HTH,

I'm running XP, and I've never had a problem with DVD's.  (I use WinDVD.)

My first guess would be a memory issue.  What are your system stats?

My second guess would be the transfer rate from the DVD drive.  It may not be configured problem.  You'll have to ask somebody more knowledgeable, or look it up, but "Enabling DMA" may be the subject you're looking for.

More information?
Every dead body that is not exterminated becomes one of them. It gets up and kills. The people it kills, get up and kill.
