This is the class I'm taking in school. So Far we've watched "Citizen Kane" and "stand by me" both were extremely good. Right now we're starting "breaking Away" which is also highly good, from what i've seen so far. Anyone see any of these 3 and what were ur thoughts?

I love Stand By Me. It really nails what it's like to be a kid, and the personalities of kids, and as I've mentioned before, it never leaves me with a dry eye. Citizen Kane is good, but it is not the best thing humanity as a whole has ever accomplished in recorded history, contrary to what all film critics believe.

offthewall: I love all 3. They all have valid strengths and distinctivenesses to them. Citizen Kane is a revolutionary film in Orson Welle's use of techniques of editing, like his signature fades etc., and the excellent cinematography and atmosphere. Orson Welles appreceated the cinematographer's work on the fim so much they both share the same title card in the credits! I think Breaking Away is a really good straight foward, coming-of-age drama. There's no s**tty MTV band soundtrack to it, there's no junkies puking, Greg Araki visuals, or any other trend nowadays in crappy indie dramas. It's just a good straightfoward drama about that period in our lives that's allways a b***h: adolescence.
