This weekend I  picked up "Slashed Dreams" and "Forever Evil"

Let me just say that of the two, "Forever Evil" is by far the better.  (It was wrtten by Dr. Freex of Bad Movie Report)

"Slashed Dreams" looks like a horror/slasher..it's not.  It's hard to describe what it is, other than about 10 minutes of movie with a whole *lot* of padding/musical montages.  It's only redeeming feature is that it's the first appearance of Robert Englund (who out-acts the rest of the cast combined).  It's supposed to be some morality play or something, but it's all couched in 60's hippie, new-agisms that are extremely dated and silly.   I actually fast forwarded throught the conclusion. (Girl who was raped the night before reads a few passages from a book and the world is all right again, or something)

"Forever Evil" is a bottom-of-the-budget horror movie that 's pretty entertaining.  The actors do a decent job (only one of which actually ever played in anything else) and the dialog can be witty at times ("I'll get the gas!").  There are some genuinely creepy scenes.  The middle moves a bit slow and like many low-budget movies, the climax is not very climactic.  The story is fairly good, but there are parts  that make no sense (like the 'devil dog' who occasionally shows up, and is never explained)

I remember Slashed Dreams. Good god, what a bad movie. Robert Englund as neo-hippie Thoreau type. And the "bad guys".....they were slightly less threatening than the titular character of Junior!
